For many, coping with the day to day ups and downs in life is manageable but for others extra support may be needed. Here at CDI we provide that support through a number of ways, and through counselling in particular we hope to provide help for improved wellbeing. We can all feel different when coping is a challenge and things seem to be going wrong at every corner. Often young people tell us they feel angry all the time, or that the “bullying at school is too much”. Sleep may feel disrupted and everything may just feel overwhelming. CDI can provide a safe place to talk and to help you understand what is happening to you and how you can put things in place to help yourself. As one young person said “I am the expert of me” having finished counselling here with us.
Here at CDI we will often to refer to talking therapies which for us means we provide space for you to talk through issues that may be of concern to you. Please see our Counselling leaflet which goes into detail about the key counselling therapies that you may access here at CDI.

PLEASE NOTE OUR COUNSELLING SERVICE IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WHO LIVE, WORK OR STUDY IN CROYDON AND ARE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 11 - 25.
If you are an adult over 25 and would like to seek counselling support please contact us and we will be happy to signpost you to other local counselling agencies, please note there may be a fee but this will be explained to you beforehand.
Counselling in Schools
This is a commissioned service and is provided to a number of colleges, secondary, primary and infant schools both within and outside the borough of Croydon. A qualified counsellor is contracted for a minimum of one year and will work in partnership with the school to bring about the best outcomes for the children and young people they meet with.
