cdi (croydon drop in) is a charitable organisation that exists to support young people aged 11 to 25 years old and families who live, work or study in the london borough of croydon.
CDI was established in 1978 and has been supporting young people and families throughout that time by offering free and confidential, counselling information, advice and advocacy services on site at our offices: 132 Church Street, Croydon CR0 1RF.
We are able to provide a borough wide service provision through our Outreach Team and TALKBUS, our mobile unit. The Outreach Team works with people in their own settings including schools, colleges and local estates. Part of the Outreach programme is commissioned and further information about services available can be viewed here.
CDI has, like many other voluntary sector agencies, experienced both challenging and positive times. We are proud to say that during all those times we have maintained a strong stance on being Person Centred in all our work. In 1995 we introduced our first Young People’s Team (ypt), this was long before ‘Participation’ was viewed with such importance and we are delighted that young people feature in our governance and all recruitment and selection processes. We are under no illusion that with co-design and delivery we are fulfilling the spirit and aims of our mission.
